What are you reading Wednesday?

What is on your reader this cold February day?

I've started a new YA post-apocalyptic series, the Matched series by Ally Condie. It's about a society where most choices, like work, meals, and spouse are made by the government.  It's not bad but there's a threat of a love triangle which annoys me to no end.

I'm reading Magic Tree House #28: High Tide in Hawaii to my kids. It's a lot more complicated than the earlier books in the series we have read so it's a challenge but so far we are enjoying it.

What book is open in your lap today?

  1. Just curious, did you ever see the Magic Tree Movie that came out? A while back, I had read the dinosaurs one with my students because...well...dinosaurs! I enjoyed it more than the kids did.

    1. Yes, we went to go see it last January. It was fun, but I was weirded out because I thought they changed the plot. Later I realized they just told the story out of turn.

      Have you seen it?

  2. I'm reading a couple books by Yellowknifers (Jamie Bastedo's Nighthawk! and Ryan Silke's High Grade Tales), I've broken down and been reading Twilight, I'm reading Totally MAD (60 years of Mad Magazine), just started Arthur Conan Doyle's Hounds of the Baskervilles, William Shakespeare's sonnets, and to my daughter I'm reading Watership Down. Whew.

  4. I just started a book called A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice, so far it is really good and I am having difficulty putting it down!

Last night I read the 3 little pigs to my daughter, not fancy but a classic! :)
