My son's favourite books are always changing, but he is very fond of Maisy books, many of which are bilingual. As for me, I love this one (not bilingual): http://www.kids-bookreview.com/2010/07/review-what-sky-knows.html
ReplyDeleteThat's a new one to me but what amazing illustrations. I like “How to be so loud Mum can hardly hear herself think” - maybe my kids have read that without me?
DeleteSo far my favorite book of 2013 has been hard to decide. But I am reading through The Innocent by Taylor Stevens, and am finding it very disturbing, fascinating, and exploring some deep issues regarding religion, cults, and other touchy stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite children's book of the year, another hard one!! Little Man isn't really into books, sadly, but we are enjoying Courderoy stories, as well as the Usborne Grimm's Fairy Tales for kids.

ReplyDeleteI would like to reserve judgment as to my favorite book of 2013 as we still have four months to go and frequently my favorite seems to pop up at the end of the year. One thing it must have is fantastic illustration. Because I write picture books, I subscribe to the theory that a picture is worth a thousand words!
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough one! I think I am loving The Time Garden by Edward Eager right now.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book so far is The Little Raindrop by Joanna Gray. It's a fantastic picture book for introducing young children to the water cycle, they follow Little Raindrop's journey.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed What we Found in the Sofa and How it Saved the World.
ReplyDeleteWe read so many, but a couple of books really made a mark. The Magic school bus series and Red Kite, Blue Kite books were our favorite so far.
